Our Young Leaders

At North Down Hockey Club, we take pride in the development and achievements of our young players.

During the summer some of our young leaders successfully completed the Hockey Ireland Young Leaders Course, in partnership with Ulster Hockey. This is an impressive accomplishment and a personal milestone for each participant.

The Hockey Ireland Young Leaders Course is designed to equip young individuals with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to take on leadership roles in their clubs and communities. Through two engaging workshops with practical sessions, participants explored essential themes such as teamwork, communication, coaching techniques, and event organisation. 

Our young leaders showed incredible dedication and enthusiasm throughout the course, demonstrating a keen passion for the sport and an eagerness to contribute positively to our Club. Their commitment to learning and growing as leaders is inspiring and indicative of the bright future that lies ahead for North Down Hockey Club as they are already contributing through coaching and umpiring in our Youth Section.

To our young leaders, congratulations on this brilliant achievement! Your hard work, perseverance, and passion for hockey have not gone unnoticed, and we are immensely proud of each of you.
