Narrow Defeat for Ladies 2s in Hard-Fought Clash with Dromore

In a closely contested encounter, the Ladies 2s faced Dromore, ultimately falling to a narrow 1-0 defeat. Despite having the lion’s share of possession and controlling much of the first half, we struggled to find the back of the net, a recurring theme that proved costly.

The match started positively for North Down who created several promising opportunities. However, despite their dominance in midfield and a series of attacking plays, the team failed to convert these chances into goals.

The third quarter saw Dromore seize the lead putting North Down on the back foot. While they fought valiantly to regain control, the equalizer eluded them.

The frustration grew as multiple penalty corners were awarded, yet none were capitalized on, including one that was disallowed when the ball did not leave the circle.

In a standout performance, defender Rebecca Webster was named Burch Autos Player of the Match for her unwavering commitment and skill at the back, thwarting numerous Dromore attacks and maintaining the team’s hopes until the final whistle.

Ultimately, while the scoreline reflects a loss, the team showed resilience and determination. With lessons learned from this match, we will regroup and focus on converting opportunities in the upcoming fixtures.
