Men’s 2s Redeem Themselves with Victory at Enter
In true North Down fashion, the Men’s 2nd XI faced a slow and sluggish start against Annadale in their recent match, allowing the opposition to capitalise early and take a 1-0 lead just one minute into the game. However, the team’s standard response was to remain relaxed, reorganize, and focus on their game plan.
As the match progressed, the Men’s 2s found their rhythm and took control. Despite some ups and downs, they managed to secure a solid 3-1 victory. Gareth McKeown shined with two goals on his first game back, while Nick added another to the scoreboard.
Special shout-outs go to Scott Moore for stepping up as captain and leading the team, as well as Philip Templeton for shaking off the cobwebs and contributing to the game. The new recruits Hurley, Nick, and Jarryd also delivered impressive performances, showcasing the team’s depth and talent.
Taking the good with the bad, this match promises an exciting year ahead in Junior 1 for North Down, especially with a strengthened squad ready to tackle the challenges ahead.
