Solid win for fourths against Portrush seconds

Solid result which, if we’re honest, probably doesn’t accurately reflect the game which could easily have gone either way.

We were out of the blocks quickly, with a goal 25 seconds into the game.

Portrush brought themselves back into the game with an equaliser 8 minutes later and only a goal separated the teams at half time.

There was a noticeable improvement in the flow when we moved from 4 in midfield to 3 and got into our stride, but it was still a close game until we managed 3 goals in quick succession, with a brace from Jonny Green!

Thanks to those who stepped in at short notice and putting in a great shift.

Standout player of the match was goalkeeper Jamie McAuley, for the second week running!
