Big positives from fifths defeat

It was a bruising 6-0 defeat for the men’s 5s today against a very strong Banbridge team.

There are still some positives to take away however! Jamie McAuley had plenty of action in nets…. He had just stepped off the pitch after playing a full game for the fourths and was subjected to 70 minutes of shots from Banbridge…. Without Jamie it could well have been 10-0 or more. The future is certainly bright for you at North Down young man!

We also had debuts from some of our ex U15s lads. Joel Gault, Sam Shaw and Reuben McNeilly played some of their first full mens hockey matches and got absolutely stuck in…. Fair play to all three of you. Definitely ones to watch out for in the future!

Massive thanks to Chris Currie who stepped up and umpired for us at extremely late notice.
