League Cup Final for Mens Thirds this Saturday. NB new time!
Sam Pyper wants to make you an offer you can’t refuse. It’s, ” Get to Stormont on Saturday at 12 noon and support our team”.
That’s the date and new time of North Down’s first foray into a final of that much loved competition, the League Cup. The third eleven’s opponents are Newry seconds and although our thirds have already beaten the Newry boys home and away in the league nothing can be taken for granted.
Sam sits close to a personal milestone. He has scored 299 career goals for North Down, some say an estimated success strike rate of 37%, and he was disappointed last Saturday to find that his hat trick against Annadale didn’t count as the game had to be played as a friendly. The thirds go into the game confidently following their midweek victory over Mossley 4ths at a very wet Regent House. Newry will however avoid a roasting as the thirds other ace striker James Millar-Hogg is unavailable for the final.
