Fifths progress in Minor Cup

The 5thxi hosted Parkview in the Minor Cup.North Down started the game very strong despite a lot of the team playing out of their normal positions.North Down quickly dominated the game and within minutes scored their first goal from centre forward Trish Neill.Parkview were quick to fight back and soon equalised.The remainder of the first half saw North Down claiming most of the play.Great passing and encouragement was seen throughout the whole team
After a positive team talk North Down took the lead with a goal from Emily Irving.Parkview soon equalised and North Down knew they had to up the pressure against the Parkview defence.Passing between the defence and midfield and up to the forwards was well timed and North Down spent the remainder of the game in the Parkview circle Neill got her second goal of the game to put North Down through to the next round with a 3-2 victory Thanks to Lauren Brown and Heather Brittain for umpiring.
