Late Heroics Lift North Down 3s to 3–2 Win

Marcus Newman and Harry Knox returned to their old stomping ground at CIYMS, bringing a touch of nostalgia, determination and plenty of energy to the squad. The stage was set for an exciting clash, and it didn’t disappoint.

North Down dominated possession from the start, but two clinical Annadale chances saw the visitors take a 2–0 lead in the first quarter. Despite the early setback, North Down kept their composure and continued to play some excellent patient hockey.

The fightback began with great work from Patrick Kerr who linked up with Jack Bond down the right hand side before picking out Sam Pyper at the back post for a well-taken goal. The momentum shifted, and North Down showcased their attacking flair with sustained pressure.

Andy Walls continued his fine form, adding another goal to make it two in as many games. The comeback was completed when Man of the Match Guy McGonigle putting on his alter ego ‘Summer League Guy’ delivered a superb assist for Kerr, sealing a hard-earned victory for North Down.
