Ladies thirds hit for five in Omagh
On Saturday the ladies thirds made the journey to Omagh seconds to take on the top of the table leaders. With a few of the regular players missing North Down knew this would be a tough game.
Omagh started the game very strongly and the visiting defence were on their toes from the very start. Goalkeeper Helena Press made some fantastic saves however Omagh quickly featured on the scoreboard with the opening goal. North Down produced some good one two passes, working the ball up the pitch however Omagh were too good and repelled all efforts. Omagh then forced several penalty corners two of which were converted and went in at half time 3-0 up.
North Down had a shaky start to the second half during which Omagh added two more to the score line. In the last 20 minutes North Down picked up their game and put in a great team effort with every player putting in a massive effort to break down the attacking play of the home team and there were no further goals.
