Ladies seconds improved performance
On Saturday the North Down seconds played at home against Pegasus 2nds. After being beaten 13-0 earlier in the season, the North Down girls knew that this week’s match was going to be tough. The first half saw Pegasus starting strongly and applying lots of pressure on the home side but the North Down girls were in top form and were dealing well with the attacking play. By the time the half time whistle blew, Pegasus were two goals to the good with one goal coming from a penalty corner and the other for open play.
The second half saw much of the same with Pegasus commanding most of the play but the home side held firm and were looking strong on the attack with Ashleigh Hamilton narrowly missing at the post. Super efforts from Anna Smith and Anna Crooks in the middle of the pitch along with Becca Walker doing a fantastic job at sweeper were certainly helping absorb the pressure and keeping the home side in it. The match finished 2-0 to the visitors Pegasus but this was a super team effort all round and the best team performance of the year!
