Tough point earned by ladies thirds
North Down ladies thirds entertained Dungannon seconds at Comber Leisure Centre last Saturday. Having beaten the Ulster Elks the previous week the girls were determined to keep the winning streak. Dungannon started off strongly dominating the majority of the first half. The opposition had a few chances to score in the early minutes of the game however goalkeeper Helena Press kept her eye on the ball and cleared them with ease. North Down were quick on the release but failed to get on the scoresheet and it was Dungannon who ended the first half with a questionable goal from the top of the circle.
With a very positive half time team talk from Laura Campbell the girls knew they had to up their game to get round the Dungannon defence. The home team played very defensively for the start of the second half with Rebecca Walker keeping the defence in line. Late on in the game North Down eventually equalised from a penalty corner by Kathryn Rogers who slipped the ball past the keeper. North Down withstood serious pressure from Dungannon to hold onto the draw and a share of the points.
