A high‑energy, clinical performance

North Down Men’s 3XI vs Bangor Men’s 4XI

North Down Men’s 3XI produced a dominant performance to overcome local rivals Bangor 4XI with an impressive 5–1 victory—a result that lifts them to the top of the Junior 3 league table.

North Down came flying out of the blocks, setting a high tempo and winning the early battles. Their pressure soon paid off when William Booker  crashed the ball into the circle, that skipper Sam Pyper cleverly deflected past the keeper for the opener.

Soon after, a turnover high up the pitch allowed Pyper to disguise a pass that sent young Conor McClements  clean through, and he finished confidently for 2–0.

In the second quarter Bangor began to slow the game and grew into the quarter, forcing North Down keeper Peter Gray  into several strong saves to preserve the lead at the break.

North Down regained control after halftime. Pyper slotted a well‑timed pass to Booker, who roofed a superb reverse stick shot for 3–0.

Their first short corner of the afternoon followed, and Pyper dispatched a low driven strike inside the post, extending the advantage to 4–0.

Bangor, pushing higher, crafted a well‑worked goal to pull one back, but North Down finished in style. In the final minute, a counterattack saw Pyper hold the ball up, draw in two defenders, and release Booker through on the right. Booker squared for McClements to tap home, rounding off a slick team move.
