Ladies thirds lost to a strong Queens fourths team

North Down ladies thirds made the short trip over to The Dub to take on Queens fourths.
North down came out fighting in the first quarter with lots of attacking play including a few short corner chances with good work through the mid field by Cathy Taylor, Laura Murray and Cara Murray. A few shots on goals sadly didn’t advantage the away North Down team.  The young Queens team took their chances in the 2nd quarter with a well worked penalty corner resulting in a 1-0 lead to the home side at half time.

The North Down defence responded strongly with some cracking play from Keri Portinga, Kathryn Rogers and Rebecca Murdoch who showcased some lovely switches around the back.  This created some chances up front for the wings Kenzi Fisher and Emma Heron who were up against a strong Queens defence.  Sarah Taylor took a couple of chances on goal but the Queens’ keeper kept a clean sheet. Queens capitalised again with a close range shot giving the North Down keeper little chance. Game ended 2-0 to Queens.
