The latest in our series of profiles sees veteran goalkeeper Linda Marshall take centre stage!

When and where did you first play hockey?

I first played for North Down at Park Way.

 How long have you been at North Down?

I have been at the Club for over 45 years!

What has been your best moment at North Down?

Each game is my best moment when I do wonderful moves.

Who has been your favourite player to play with at North Down and why?

Marietta Lammey and Maureen West when we played against Pegasus at Stranmillis.  These two ladies who both played defence decided to leave the ball to me when Pegasus forwards came charging towards me.  HELP! And they both laughed at me but Pegasus didn’t score!

What is your least favourite team to play against?

Who in your North Down team would you want, and who not, on your quiz team?

I would like Laura Murray on my team, the person I wouldn’t want is Kroger.

Do you follow a particular football team?

Manchester United, the best in world.

What is the best holiday you have ever had?

Jamaica.  I have been there six times working in Pringle children’s home.  It was very worthwhile as they have so little and we can learn from them.

What is your favourite TV programme?

Taskmaster, Masterchef, The One Show and Breakfast News.

What is your favourite movie?

All John Wayne films.
