Ladies fifths in control

North Down ladies fifths entertained Banbridge ladies fourths at Regent House on Saturday in a rearranged league game hoping to make amends for a 2-0 loss earlier in the season.  The Banbridge team were delayed by traffic and were generously given time for their warm up routine but when they went ahead in the first eight minutes from a corner deflection, North Down were starting to regret being so kind.  However, absolutely everyone worked their socks off and Karen Jackson was able to find the back of the net before half time, scoring one of her rare goals to make it 1-1.

The bonus of having five rotating forwards, Chandler, Clifford, Shields, West and Stevenson certainly produced the desired effect with West scoring, then Stevenson then West again.  All of the goals came from great team work with the midfield trio finding the forwards easily.  Banbridge tried to get back in the game, but the home defence with Grace Davis in goals was in top form and maintained the score at 4-1.  An absolutely tremendous performance from everyone!

PMB player of the Match: Lynsey Stevenson.
