Ladies seconds go down at home to Omagh
The ladies seconds have had a disappointing start to their Junior Two league campaign and their troubles continued last Saturday with a home defeat to Omagh seconds. It all looked good as Jenna Hoey fired them into the lead with a short corner strike on 15 minutes but the visitors equalised 5 minutes from half time to make it 1-1 at the break.
Omagh pressed strongly in the second half and Nikki Ferris did well to keep them out until two goals in two minutes put the visitors in an unassailable position. Julie Fisher, celebrating a milestone birthday, pulled a goal back late in the second half to make the final score 2-3 but Omagh held out for all three points.
The seconds now face a difficult trip on Wednesday evening to face Portadown seconds in the league.
