Match winning performance from Ryan!
North Down fifths put Raphoe thirds to the sword at Regent House on Saturday winning 4-0. After being made wait almost 25 minutes by the away team (perhaps the traffic from Banbridge was heavier than expected….), North Down were determined to make sure the late arrivals were caught cold.
A good first half saw the home team 3-0 up with two goals from Ryan Millar and one from Sam Pyper in a fairly gritty game. North Down were clearly the stronger team and worked the space well playing in a similar fashion to last week.
The second half saw the fifths continue in much the same vein as the first, however, a rush of blood from Toby Fynn drew a yellow card and gave Raphoe an opportunity to hit back.
Despite some dubious officiating a strong defensive effort from the whole team saw the clean sheet protected, the 7th of the season! Peter Shields added the fourth late in the half for another comfortable three points and a win to make amends for the defeat in Donegal earlier in the season.
