Mens fifths in cruise control

The mens fifths beat Civil Service fourths 6-0 at Regent House last Saturday. A great team performance with some nice hockey played.

After soaking up some early pressure, North Down started to assert themselves on the game, creating plenty of space in the Civil Service midfield. For the remainder of the first half, the home team took the game to the visitors, creating plenty of opportunities to score. Following Andy Linter’s opening goal, Peter Shields added two from a short corners, and Chris Drysdale pick-pocketed a Civil Service defender and finished nicely to see out the first half.

The second half was played much the same as the first with the home team on the front foot. Perhaps due to a little naivety and everyone wanting in on the goals fewer chances were created. However, the result was never in doubt with Linter adding his second of the game, and Shields rounding out his hat trick of short corner goals.

Great team performance and another clean sheet, well done lads!
