Seconds draw at service

On Saturday the 2nds travelled the short distance up the road to play against Civil Service 2nds. Knowing the two teams were beside each other in the league, the North Down team were out to try and get 3 points out of the match. The ladies started strong, showing great form and dominating the play. A goal nicely slotted home by Amy Kimber saw the visiting side go 1-0 during the first half.
After half time, the service team had pulled themselves together and were fighting hard to get back into the game. They upped their intensity and were rewarded when a well placed strike saw them equalise from a penalty corner. The North Down girls fought hard to maintain the goal line at 1-1 with Service piling on the pressure. North Down were close to squeezing into the lead when a super shot by Amy Kimber was saved by the on form Service keeper. The well fought match ended 1-1.
