Hils gets fourths into next cup round

North Down ladies fourths travelled to Knock for a Junior Cup game with a mix of veterans and youth ready for action.

Both teams produced attacking moves but despite winning numerous corners North Down couldn’t press home their advantage and the first half was scoreless.

Into the second half and good build up play by the Comber girls resulted in another penalty corner. Lynsey Stevenson injected perfectly to Hilary West who exchanged passes with Julie Fisher for veteran West to drive the ball into the net. With five minutes to go there was confusion as half of the floodlights failed, an issue which took 10 minutes to resolve.  On the restart Knock pressed hard but determined defending from Maxine Taylor and Anna Rogers kept Knock at bay.
