Disappointing ladies result against Mossley
In their second Premier League match of this season North Down ladies had a strong start against a fresh Mossley team at Comber Leisure Centre. They got off to the best possible opening with Jenna Hoey winning a penalty corner and a strong goal scored by Bethan Brittan within the first few minutes of the match. The intensity remained high from the team until halfway through the first half when Mossley eventually equalised. With much play back and forth and many chances from both teams North Down managed to keep this score line until half time. This left the game very much all to play for entering the second half.
Mossley came out fighting at the restart and scored early in the half. Home team heads dropped and although they tried their best to keep Mossley out, another two goals were put past in quick concession. North Down picked up the pace after this but it was too late and they were unable to make an impression on a strong Mossley team. There’s a break from Ulster hockey this Saturday as North Down entertain Avoca in the Irish Trophy at Comber at 2.30 pm.
