Under 15 girls draw at Ballynahinch

This year we will have two U15 girls’ teams, purple and yellow. It was the U15 yellow team that ventured to St Colman’s to play Ballynahinch U15 on Sunday afternoon.

The team started well with excellent attacks from Rachel Allen and Eloise Mackey. Stirling work in the midfield from Daisy Fisher, Bethany Burrows and Abbie Webster. Ballynahinch found their form during the first half and pressurized the North Down defence. Strong tackles from Connie Magee and Sarah Taylor and super clearances from Grace Davis saw off the Ballynahinch advances and the score was nil all at half time.

The second half was fast and furious; Tilly Neill and Erin Scurfield were magnificent at the back. Great teamwork from Lena Millar Hogg, Elle Moore and Hannah Stevenson saw strong attacks but we just couldn’t find the net. Ballynahinch scored late in the second half but the feisty Yellow squad did not give up, they fought diligently and Eloise Mackie scored the equaliser in the final minutes. All in all a fair result of 1-1.

The player of the match went to the outstanding Tilly Neill.

Thanks go to Anna Crooks, Caitlin Taylor and James Millar-Hogg for their help coaching.

Well done everyone- a super start to the season!
