North Down ladies thirds travelled to Dungannon seconds on Saturday hoping to put their defeat to Ards thirds last Saturday behind them.
North down dominated from the first whistle and controlled the play from the start of the game however they failed to make the most of their opportunities with Judith Orr coming the closest midway through the half. After this Dungannon started to come more into the game but however also failed to capitalise on their chances and the half remained scoreless.
The second half followed a similar pattern with both sides having chances but being unable to convert these. Late in the half North Down were on for a winner when the ball came out of defence to Judith Orr whose pass found Lucy Bell. Bell had a one-on-one with the keeper but the ball went just wide of the post. Dungannon had a number of penalty corners in the dying minutes after a harsh call from the Dungannon umpire but the visitors’ defence dealt well with these and the game finished, as it started, scoreless.
