Youth On The Countdown

And so another busy Youth season is almost at an end! To celebrate all age groups will be having a blitz day / evening of games. Rounders, football & hockey are all in the mix.

Sunday 22nd March is the last Minis Session and Under 13 & 15 Boys Session.

The Under 13 & 15 Girls finish on Monday 23rd March.

The 2014-15 Season has been a great success for all our Youth. Our numbers increased again in all sections, (especially our p1-p4 section which has doubled in size from September!). We have over 130 youth members registered with the Ulster Hockey Union. It has also been a very busy season. We entered two teams in each of the Under 11 & 13 Girls and one team each in the Under 11 & 13 Boys Monthly Tournaments. All teams performed extremely well, with their match play and individual skills increasing significantly over the season. Our Under 15 Boys and Girls were entered into their respective league and Cup / Plate competitions. The girls are currently still playing out their programme of matches and both boys and girls have had great results.

Moving up . . . for P7’s the Under 13 Girls takes place on a Monday night from 6-7pm & the Under 13 Boys from 2.30-3.30pm on a Sunday afternoon. Under 13 Boys & Girls moving to Under 15s will remain at the same time – but just a case of a walk across to the other side of the pitch! For all those who will turn 15 we would of course like to see them at our adult club training which is on a Wednesday night.

Hockey Summer Scheme .. We will be running these at Comber Leisure Centre in July & August.

Ages 6-12   27th to 31st July & 10th to 14th August 10am – 12.30pm

Ages 12-15 27th & 29th July and 10th & 12th August 7-9pm.

Registration and parental consent forms will be available shortly on this website under ‘downloads’

Now to the thank-you’s . . . ..

On behalf of all our coaches, I would like to thank you as parents for your continued support throughout the season. We hope your child has enjoyed the sessions and learned lots of new skills but most importantly had fun !

. . . and also to our wonderful, dedicated team of coaches. Everyone who coaches is a volunteer and gives up their time freely. Together with their generosity and the support of the club who actively invests in sending its members on coaching courses we endeavour to deliver fun and learning in all our sessions!

Thank you All !

Julie (Youth Club Co-Ordinator)
