A 4-3 win for the 2s against one of porcine-kinds greatest foes! North Down’s SloMo-Messi, Jamie Orr, oozes through simple-carb avoiding Cookstown 2s defence like melted cardboard-packed-to-make-it-look-expensive Lidl chocolate to spearhead this season’s first just-when-it’s-needed taking of a marquee scalp (where “marquee” means “team we have a less than satisfactory record against”). North Down travelled to Portadown on Tuesday to play a rearranged league fixture in the knowledge that a victory would almost certainly secure their Premier status for next season. North Down got the perfect start when after 2 minutes a poor clearance fell to McKeown. His shot was saved but the ball broke to Wilson…
After the humiliating midweek defeat at the hands of Cookstown North Down got back to winning ways when they comfortably defeated Ashton 5-0 in the quarter final of the Irish Trophy North Down were on top for most of the game and controlled the pattern of play. Keeper Coates had one of his quietest games…
