North Down 2s Fall to Strong Lisnagarvey Side

On Friday night the men’s 2s took on Lisnagarvey 2s who walked the junior 1 league last year. The game started off well for North Down as they won an early short corner which Scott Moore switched to Ross Blair but was saved. After the early wake up call Garvey took control and scored 6 in the first half. After a few words at half time North Down regrouped and began to show real glimpses of class and scored early in the third quarter through Connor McClemments. Matthew Bruce nearly converted North Downs second shortly after but the Lisnegarvey keeper saved well. Lisnagarvey scored two more goals in the last quarter to make the score finish 8-1. The score line did not reflect the performance from North Down but next Friday night North Down welcome Bangor 2s in what is sure to be an important game for both teams.
