Masters Round-Up

April – June 2025 Highlights

April 2025

Well done to Laura Murray (O40s) and Julie Fisher (O55s) who represented Ulster Masters at the Interprovincial Games in Cork!

  • Laura and the O40s team secured a strong 3rd place finish.
  • JR and the O55s team WON the tournament

May 2025

Stephen Magee and Paul Adgey travelled to Valencia for the 2025 Masters European Championships.

  • Adgey and the Men’s O45 squad had a brilliant tournament, making it all the way to the final. They were narrowly defeated by England, 2-1 and came home with a well-deserved silver medal!
  • Magee and the O50s team finished 6th overall, after two tightly contested matches that ended in run-ins – 2-2 vs Scotland (QF) and 2-2 vs France (5th/6th playoff). Tough results, but a strong showing from the squad.

June 2025

JR continued her incredible season, this time representing Ireland Masters O55s at the Four Nations Tournament in Swansea. She was honoured with the captaincy, bringing leadership and experience to the team.

Steven Boyd and Men’s 1XI coach Gareth McKeown (Mackers) also made the trip to Valencia, flying the flag for our club at the European Championships.
Shoutout to Matthew Bruce, who also made the trip to Valencia, but this time, he swapped the stick for a role in management.

A huge congratulations to Mackers and the O40s squad who came home as silver medalists! Training is now underway for the 2026 World Cup.
And finally, best of luck to Billy Pollock, who is deep into training for the Men’s O70s World Masters Euros this August.

What a few months it’s been for our Masters players, full of silverware and international appearances. The club is incredibly proud of all your achievements!
