Dromore Strike Late to Edge North Down 2–1

Dromore produced a late comeback to defeat North Down 2–1 in a tightly contested match that came to life in the final quarter.

For much of the game, both sides were evenly matched, with strong defensive performances limiting clear opportunities. North Down started brightly and enjoyed spells of possession, but Dromore remained organised at the back, ensuring the first half ended goalless.

The third quarter followed a similar pattern, with play largely concentrated in midfield as both teams battled hard for control. Despite some promising attacking play from North Down, neither side was able to break the deadlock heading into the final period.

The game shifted dramatically in the final quarter when Dromore found their breakthrough. After building sustained pressure inside the circle, they opened the scoring to take a 1–0 lead. Dromore then struck again soon after, doubling their advantage and putting themselves firmly in control of the contest.

North Down responded quickly and pulled a goal back shortly afterwards. A dangerous ball into the circle created confusion in the Dromore defence, and Andrea Mockford managed to get a touch which guided the ball into the bottom corner to make it 2–1.

North Down pushed forward in the closing minutes in search of an equaliser, but Dromore held firm defensively to see out the game and secure the win.
