North Down Fall in Tough Away Clash
This week, North Down 3rd XI travelled to Banbridge. The home side came out strong from the first whistle, scoring twice in the opening quarter. North Down began to settle into their rhythm, but Banbridge added a third goal before halftime.
North Down delivered a solid performance in the third quarter, using shorter passes to move the ball effectively from defence to attack and earning a couple of penalty corners, though they couldn’t convert. The visiting defence worked tirelessly right to the final whistle, with Nikki Ferris making several impressive saves. Banbridge added two more goals from well-executed set pieces before the match concluded.
Despite the scoreline, North Down showed real resilience and should be proud of how they worked together throughout the game. Massive thanks to Keri Portinga for umpiring.
