Tough away point for North Down

North Down ladies travelled to Coleraine for a much anticipated game in the Senior League and a thrilling contest ended in a 0-0 draw.

The visitors’ defensive lineup of Heather Brittain, Bethan Crawford, Angelique Toombs and Caitlin Taylor showcased incredible teamwork and resilience in maintaining a clean sheet and holding off Coleraine’s attack through the entire game.

The midfield battle was intense, with Megan Murray, Kirsty Boobyer, Olivia Brown and Rachel Murphy working tirelessly to control the play and create scoring opportunities for their team. Their strategic passing and ball control were commendable throughout the match.

In the forward line, Betty Burrows, Sophie Hoey, Emily Johnston, Jenna and Jasmine Frazer displayed impressive offensive skills receiving balls from hit outs, consistently putting pressure on Coleraine defence and creating goal-scoring chances.

A special mention goes to North Down goalkeeper Kathryn McGregor who made class saves throughout the game denying Coleraine’s attempts to add to the scoreline. Her remarkable reflexes and composure under pressure were instrumental in preserving the team’s clean sheet.

Despite both teams’ persistent efforts, the game ultimately ended in a goalless draw with North Down’s solid defence and Kathryn McGregor’s exceptional saves ensuring that they returned home with a well-earned point against the side currently topping the Senior One league table. Burch Autos Player of the Match was Kathryn McGregor.
