Weather the winner at Ballyclare

North Down ladies fifths travelled to Ballyclare High School to play Parkview seconds on Saturday looking to repeat their 4-0 win earlier in the season.

Missing injured Ann McBride with Keri Portinga in her place the North Down defence looked jittery in the first quarter giving away a series of penalty corners but good goalkeeping from Amy Powell managed to keep the game scoreless.

In the second quarter North Down settled with the Taylor family in midfield control and crossing great balls into the circle for Lucie Dickson to test the Parkview goalkeeper who stood firm.

In the second half, as the rain increased in intensity, concentration slipped a little but North Down held firm with great tackles on the left from Jill Jack and Erin McConnell thwarting the talented skills of the Parkview forwards. Keri Portinga had chances at the other end only for the Parkview goalkeeper to play her socks off. In the last few minutes Parkview could even have sneaked a win but great timing from Maxine Taylor and more saves from Amy Powell meant the final score was 0-0. A fair result against a talented and sporting team.

Burch Autos Player of the Match was Amy Powell.
