Defeats in both League Cup finals

There were defeats for both North Down teams in last Saturday’s League Cup finals at Stormont.  The fourths staged a late come back to tie their game with CIYMS seconds at 3-3 with a goal from Jason Purvis in penalty corner added time.  CI conclusively won the penalty run ins shootout 3-0.  Greg Bell and Adam Tate were the other goal scorers.

The fifths followed in their final against a strong Portrush seconds 16 who obviously wanted to win the game badly.  Matt Murray scored to tie the game at 1-1 but Portrush’s strength in depth proved too much for our fifths and they scored twice more to seal the game.
