Girls just lose to Garvey in Under 13s Final

What a great day of hockey for our Under 13 girls at Stormont on Sunday.  As it was Finals Day, each club was only permitted to enter one team, compared to the usual three we enter at monthly Blitzes.

The girls played fantastic hockey. They were unbeaten in their Group matches, winning against Larne, C.I and Raphoe and drawing to South Antrim and Armagh. With a top of the Group finish they played the runners up in the other Group, Knock and won this semi final match 1-0 with 15 seconds left on the clock!

The Final was against Lisnagarvey and our girls dominated most of the attack in the game. So many shots whistled past the post or the keeper pulled off some great saves and then against the run of play, Lisnagarvey nicked a goal! The girls tried hard to equalise but unfortunately time ran out, losing the only match of the day!

A huge big well done to all the girls on their silver medal! They all played with great heart and enthusiasm – so proud of each and every one of them!

Thanks to all the dedicated parents, family and friends for their continued support and to Judith & Jonathan for the BBQ afterwards.

Finally, to my partner in crime Wallsy, a big thank you from me and the girls for all your time and dedication this season !

Have a lovely summer break everyone!
