Ladies fifths lose out by single goal
North Down ladies fifth eleven entertained Coleraine thirds at Nendrum College on Saturday and lost by a single goal. There was a late start due to a transport problem and the home team agreed to wait until all the players had arrived, which Coleraine appreciated.
The match began with the Rodgers sisters Kathryn and Anna in good form but a lapse in concentration on marking meant that Coleraine were able to breakthrough and score. North Down tried their best to hit back with forwards Diane Boyd, Sara Moreland and Anna Rodgers making the Coleraine keeper produce some fantastic saves. However, it was obvious that it was not going to be North Down’s day when Laura Murray hit the post late on to leave the final score at 1-0.
