Ladies thirds go down at Garvey
After a great win over Ballyclare the previous weekend North Down thirds were determined to carry on their winning streak on Saturday against Lisnagarvey fourths. Both teams started off strongly with North Down dominating most of the first half but it was the home team halfway through the first half who scored the opener. A ball crossed from the left hand side found one of the Garvey forwards and they tapped it into the corner of the goal. North Down kept their heads up and had plenty of shots on goal but were unable to find the net and so it was 1-0 to Garvey at half time.
North Down upped their game in the second half to try and level the score however a break by Garvey into the North Down defending circle resulted in a second home team goal when the umpire missed the ball hitting a Garvey foot before it rolled over the goal line. North Down fought until the last minute to get on the scoreboard with great play from the midfields and the forwards but they were unsuccessful and returned home with a 2-0 loss under their belts.
