First win for ladies thirds

The ladies thirds travelled to Lurgan thirds on Saturday hoping to get their first win of the season. After losing to local rivals Civil Service seconds last week, North Down were determined to up their game.  They started well with some good attacking play, but as the first half progressed Lurgan got more into the game. Both teams fought hard to take their chances to open the scoring.  North Down scored first with Kathryn Rogers finding the net after a superb rebound from a penalty corner but shortly afterwards Lurgan equalised to make it 1-1 at the break.

After half time, North Down dominated the opposition creating a plethora of chances.  Lucy Bell left the Lurgan defence high and dry as she broke away from the pack. Faced with a one on one with the keeper she kept her cool and slotted the ball home to take the visitors to a 2-1 victory and overall a great team performance.

Player of the Match: Lucy Bell.

Many thanks to Lauren Brown for umpiring.
