Sun shines on Easter Festival

Two days of entertaining hockey were favoured by wall to wall sunshine at Comber Leisure Centre at the weekend in yet another successful Easter Tournament.

Eventual winners were the same group now known as ‘What’s the worst could happen’ who have been winners in recent years and the winners of the Plate Section were ‘Alcohockics’.  We are grateful to the support given by our sponsors and also behind the scenes by Alan Johnston.  Also to the teams who entered and helped clear up the substantial mess each day on the tennis courts!

Just as important, at the Saturday evening party a number of North Down novitiates were initiated into the inner North Down circle in the ancient and venerable ceremony which can only be performed every few years when the moon and planets are in a particular alignment.

This was Alan McMaster’s last year as Tournament Convenor and for Peter Bond it will be a hard act to follow as the event has become more and more streamlined.

Watch the last word from Alan below.
