Comfortable win for ladies seconds
The ladies seconds faced their Knock counterparts on Saturday at Ards Leisure Centre and right from the starting whistle North Down proved much stronger in their attacking skills. Amy Jones made strong runs up the right wing throughout the game creating a lot of chances for the strong squad and scored a much deserved first goal of the game.
North Down continued to dominate the game with hard work from Laura Campbell in mid field who gave a great pass to Olivia Brown who moved effortlessly through the Knock defensive line and scored the second goal. North Down’s strong attacking skills were shown again in the second half when they were awarded a penalty corner and Jenna Hoey scored from the top of the circle putting the team into a decisive 3-0 lead. The girls kept their shape and strength in their attempt to score another goal before the full time whistle blew and they succeeded. The goal came from a long corner on the right hand side of the pitch which was received by Keri Portinga who passed across the circle to set Charlotte McKee up for a beautiful finish and a fourth and final goal.
