Thirds fight back to draw with Dale thirds

The mens thirds entertained Annadale thirds at Comber Leisure Centre on Saturday in the ongoing prestigious Junior Two League Cup.  Ben Willis put North Down ahead after 10 minutes play but for almost the rest of the half it was all Annadale as they pushed strongly for an equaliser.  Ben Bond in goals did well to keep them out with several super saves but he was finally beaten almost on half time as Dale finally got on level terms.

The visitors continued in the same vein into the second half and within 9 minutes had added two more the second being a rasping drive which gave Bond no chance.  It was looking ominous for the North Down team but they then recovered in fine style.  Ex Annadale player Al Baker making his North Down debut pulled a goal back to make it 3-2 and then John Clarke rounded off a fine comeback to make the final score 3-3.

The thirds travel to Lisnagarvey 4ths this coming Saturday in the final round of the league cup games.
