Mens 6th XI Go Down At South Antrim

North Down sixth eleven travelled to Lisburn to play South Antrim fifths who, with some of their more senior teams without games due to postponements, fielded a strong squad of 16 players.

The youthful North Down team held their own for most of the game after conceding an early goal and two strikes in the final three minutes from the home team gave the scoreline an unfair appearance. Sam Martin in goals gave his usual excellent performance, Bryn Walker at the back was as solid and resolute as ever and in midfield Josh Gilmore and Kai Jenkins again turned on the style.

However, it’s upfront where the sixths lack penetration and they will need to start taking their chances if they are to move up the table.
