Junior Inter Pros in May 2019

We have received the communication below from Ulster Hockey.  If any of our men’s members are interested in attending the trials please contact Club secretary Ross Linter.

The 2019 Junior Interprovincial Tournament will be taking place in Munster (Venue TBC) on the weekend of Saturday 18^th and Sunday 19^th May 2019.

I am writing to ask you to nominate a maximum of 4 outfield players from your club who wish to attend selection trials for this year’s squad. If you would like to nominate a goal keeper, this person can be additional to the 4 outfield players.

There may be up to two selection trials with the initial trial for the Junior Men taking place on Sunday 24^th March 2018 from 10:00am until 12:00pm at Playball, Stormont. Depending on numbers, a second trial may take place on Wednesday 27^th March from 7.00pm to 9.00pm.

Trials will take the format of fitness, core skills, small-sided games and larger match situations to ensure players get the best opportunity to display their talents.

After the selection trial, the managers of the respective squads will be in contact with you detailing those players that have been successful.

Please read the below eligibility criteria carefully. Players who do not meet these criteria cannot be considered for selection:

 Men

Player eligibility is based on the level each player is playing at in the current season within their provincial/domestic league.

Any player who is eligible to play for a province but plays their club hockey in another province will be covered by the eligibility rules of their regular playing province.

Note: Players playing for a club playing in the ISC by virtue of having won the Irish Trophy in the preceding season are eligible to play in the Junior Interprovincial Tournament.

• Ulster: All players excluding those playing at Senior 1 level and above or have played in more than 2 IHL matches in the current season or more than 3 IHL Level 2 matches in the current season.

*Note: Players should be available for trials and training and able to travel on Friday 17^th May 2019.

I ask that all Secretaries return the following information for each player they wish to be considered at the first trial:

• Date of Birth
• Club
• Position 1 (preferred)
• Position 2
• Any relevant medical information i.e. asthma, epilepsy, diabetes, injury)
• Address
• Contact Number
• Email Address
