Our newly formed North Down Ladies Vets team , a great mix of current players, returning faces and some new talent, kicked off their season at the end of April with a friendly against Bangor Vets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In June, they began their Vets Plate campaign with a strong 2-0 win over Bangor, moving them into the next round where they faced Team Wicked. After a tense first half with no goals, Keri Portinga broke the deadlock with a fantastic run and cross, which Heather Kinnier finished to put North Down ahead. The match ended 1-1, but the ladies held their nerve and won 2-1 in the run-ins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They went on to beat NICS in the semi-final, earning a well-deserved place in the final against Dromore. Despite a brilliant effort, they narrowly lost 2-1 to a young and energetic Dromore side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
