Last Friday evening we launched our new 4 session Inclusion Hockey coaching programme at Comber Leisure Centre for young people with learning disabilities or difficulties and it was great to see the involvement of our youth members – well done all!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aim of the sessions is to make hockey more attractive to and accessible for children who do not feel comfortable or able to join mainstream sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sessions are delivered according to the young person\u2019s ability and all participants will be able to develop their own skills at their own pace whilst enjoying group matches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coaches use a one on one \u201cbuddy system\u201d where everyone learns to respect each other, involve others and communicate how to win or lose together! Our intention is that this will become a regular feature in our youth coaching schedules in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
