A well-executed break down the left wing saw them open the scoring with a clinical finish, putting North Down on the back foot. Just moments later, Ards doubled lead by winning a penalty flick to put the score to 2-0

However, North Down, undeterred by the early setback, began to find their rhythm. Their pressing and quick passing started to put Ards under pressure. As the second half unfolded, Northdown grew into the game, with their midfield starting to dominate possession and create attacking opportunities.

The breakthrough came midway through the 3rd qauter , The first goal arrived with just minutes into the 3rd quarter as a well-worked short corner routine was expertly converted, by Libby Mcmullan from a brilliant strike by Kathryn Rogers.
