Fighting draw for the ladies thirds

On Saturday the ladies thirds hosted Dromore thirds at RegentHouse school. Having previously lost 4-0 to them earlier in the season they knew it would be a tough game.

Throughout the first quarter both teams had chances to get onto the scoreboard but the score remained 0-0 going into the second quarter. North Down applied a lot of pressure in the second spell and kept the Dromore defence busy. The visiting team had a few breakaway chances but the home team cleared any attacking play.

After a good half time chat North Down came out fighting in the second half to try and take the lead. Both sides again had plenty of chances but both keepers made vital saves. Eventually the first goal of the game was for North Down during a penalty corner where Flo Rebbeck got the final touch to put it past the Dromore keeper. Dromore quickly fought back and got past the home defence to make the score level. North Down kept the effort up until the end with a great team performance from the home team.
