Rhiannon’s great hat trick for thirds!

The ladies thirds hosted Castle seconds at home on Friday night at Regent House. The visiting team started very strongly and put the home defence under pressure. A break in the play saw centre forward Rhiannon Davis get the first goal of the game from a great reverse shot. The remainder of the first half for North Down was spent working the ball from the back of the pitch with great 1-2 passing between the mids and forwards. North Down had a few penalty corners but couldn’t capitalise on them.

Castle started the second half determined to get a goal but goalkeeper Helena Press cleared every shot. The North Down attackers got round Castle’s back line with ease and Rhiannon Davis got her second goal of the game from a deflection. Castle had their fair share of corners with the final one being stopped by centre back Rebecca Murdock on the face who thankfully was wearing a face mask. North Down’s final goal came from Fiona Ellis injecting the ball into the circle for Rhiannon to get her third goal of the game. Fantastic game for the whole team.
