Premier points shared at Comber

North Down mens first eleven welcomed Belfast Harlequins to Comber on Saturday in their second Premier League match of the season.

The home side started strongly and were soon 1-0 up. A cross field aerial from Jonny Linter found Josh Gilmore one on one with the Harlequins goalie and the sturdy striker made no mistake.

However the advantage was curtailed when Stevie Dalzell slipped on a leafy pitch and collided with a Harelquins midfielder, warranting a 10 minute yellow card suspension.

Harlequins capitalised with the extra man, converting a short corner early in the second quarter to level the score at 1-1. North Down responded immediately with Gareth McKeown assisting Harry Templeton who rounded the keeper and slammed home on his reverse.

Soon it was 3-1 with McKeown converting a short corner which had been won by Ross Linter. However Harlequins were still creating chances of their own and scored from another short corner, 3-2.

In quarter three, the scores were levelled with the home side caught on the counter attack and duly punished.

As the game came to a close the drama continued. Harlequins won a penalty stroke which was skilfully saved by Darren Rodgers before Mark Shannon received a yellow.

Final score 3-3 with both teams settling for a point in an entertaining game.
