David Frazer appointed as Men’s Head Coach

We are very pleased to report that the Club has secured the services of Davy Frazer as men’s 1st XI Head Coach for the season ahead!

For those of you who don’t know Davy, he played at North Down on the 1st XI in previous years, coached our ladies 1st XI for a period and went on to coach Harlequins Ladies most recently, overseeing their promotion to the IHL.

Club Captain Ross Linter commented, “We are delighted to have Davy Frazer on board for the new season.  Davy previously played for North Down until he moved into coaching and, in fact, his first coaching job was with our ladies first eleven before he moved on to Belfast Harlequins.  He is very much aware of the ethos of our club and although we may be the oldest club in Ulster we are very ambitious to take our Club to the next level.  We see the appointment of Davy as an important step in that direction.”

We asked Davy how he feels about returning to the club and he had this to say, “It’s great to be coming back to North Down as men’s Head Coach. I’m looking forward to the new season and I believe we will be challenging at the top end of the table!”

An excellent fit and hopefully an exciting period ahead for us as lockdown measures ease and we begin to think about our return to hockey! As an added bonus for teams down the Club, Davy has indicated that he would like to play whenever possible, maybe with a view to keeping his Irish Masters’ hopes alive!!

Welcome back, Davy!
