Comfortable win for ladies firsts in Bangor

The Ladies ones made the short journey to newly promoted side Bangor on Saturday. The team were looking to build on their good start to the season after last weeks win over Mossley.

Once again North Down started on the front foot and dominated the opening quarter with great pressure from forwards Brown, Murphy, Hoey and Millar-Hogg. However, the Bangor keeper stood firm and pulled off a number of great saves to keep the game on level terms.

The second quarter continued in the same way with North Down piling on the pressure and winning numerous corners. Finally the breakthrough came at the close of the half when Bethany Burrows struck a superb half volley to finally pass the Bangor keeper.

This goal was then consolidated with penalty corner conversions from Kerry Long and Natalie Wallace in the third and fourth quarters.

The final score finished a comfortable 3-0 with North Down Keeper Press being a spectator for the majority of the match.

Burch Autos Player of the Match was shared between Selina Lewis and Bethany Burrows
