And last but not least, in profile ………… it’s Kathryn Rogers!!

Hockey is slowly but surely returning to the worlds favourite club and to celebrate it with the last in the current series of Player Profiles here’s our Club Treasurer – Kathryn Rogers!

When and where did you first play hockey?

Judith Orr brought me along to the minis at North Down on a Friday night. Not long after I started Rebecca Brown hit me on the head with the ball and I’ve been here ever since.

Have you played for any other hockey clubs?

Nil. See above answer

How long have you been at North Down?

At least 15 years or as some people like to describe how old their babies are in months- 180 months.

Do you have any personal ambitions in hockey?

Probably to be able to make it back from a penalty corner comfortably without losing a lung at the half way line or scoring more goals in one season than Kirsty McCrory

What has been your best moment at North Down?

Too many to choose from, mainly on away trips eg misreading the signs to Ballymoney, getting lost and arriving 20 mins after the game had started with 4 people in my car. But at the moment it has to be Rebecca Nield telling everyone it was Linda Marshall that fell into the Enler River.

Who has been your favourite player to play with at North Down and why?

Again too many to choose from but I’d pick Fiona Ellis as she was panic buying corona masks at £70 online at Civil Service or Staci Maxwell for her commentary during the games.

What is your least favourite team to play against?

North Down 4th XI. Just kidding it would obviously be ****.

Who in your North Down team would you want, and who not, on your quiz team?

I would want Ali Campbell on my team as she put in a solid performance at the last quiz. I would definitely not pick Anna Rogers as that is just a recipe for disaster.

Do you follow a particular football team?

Not unless I’m close to winning the Last Man Standing Money.

What other sports are you interested in and do you play any other sports?

I’ll try anything. In the past few summers I’ve been playing cricket

What is your favourite personal sporting moment and a favourite all time sporting one?

All time sporting would be GB winning the gold medal at the Olympics and more recently Ireland qualifying for the Olympics. Personal sporting one- I’m still trying to think of an answer for that.

Have you a personal goal you want to achieve like climbing Everest, learning a musical instrument etc?

I’ve actually trying to teach myself to walk on my hands. So far not successful.

What is the best holiday you have ever had?

Road trip down the East coast of America!

Where is your ideal holiday location?

Somewhere super warm with bags of Lays and Mars Bar ice creams.

What type of music do you like?

My most listened to playlist on Spotify is Elton John.

What is your favourite TV programme?

Gavin and Stacey

What is your favourite movie?

Bridesmaids

Have you a favourite book you have read again?
